Spiritual Journey - I’m happy! Why fix it?  Send to a Friend

Why should anyone want to go on a safari? Why would anyone want to dive to the bottom of the ocean? Why would anyone want to trek across the Himalayas? Why would anyone want to race a Ferrari? Why would anyone want to jump the Nevis Bungy in New Zealand? Why would anyone want to meet a stranger? Why would anyone want to study medicine, computers, fly a jet, explore space, travel the world, run a marathon, fall in love with a total stranger, move to foreign country or the scariest thing in the world for most of us, why would anyone want to explore our inner self?

Our inner self is where all our feelings emanate from. It is the nerve center of our emotional well-being. It sits at the core of us and, in most cases, has been overlooked since childhood. Why? Because most of us have been domesticated by parental and social programming that tells us how to think, what to say, and how to react. Madison Avenue and our American culture have controlled us with the fear of rejection, the fear of looking out of place. It has taught us to be a coward and not to follow our true passions unless they comply with the rest of society. President John F. Kennedy once said “All that we have to fear is fear itself”. How great.

So what is the answer to each of the questions above? The answer is we should do what we do for one reason and one reason only: We should do what we do because we want to, because we should always have the freedom to follow our own true inner feelings of exploration as long as we don’t hurt others.

Let’s take a spiritual journey into our minds-deepest cavern in search of self-transformation into a fearless warrior of self-love and understanding. Those who are ready and willing to experience the journey can be guided into a life of total freedom. Not everyone is ready to take this adventure. That’s okay, but don’t let that stop others from enjoying this experience. It is a feeling, a high, a belief that we have achieved one of the greatest accomplishments of our lives.

Once enlightened we will want to share, without limitations, our experience with others. Not in an arrogant way, but in a humble and self-confident and loving way. This will allow us to discover the life we want to live, our true passion for life, and to share it with people we care about. This will give us the confidence to evolve into a person that is always learning about ourselves and our environment, a person who is forever changing, a person who wants to share these experiences in a loving and humble way with all that we come in touch with. In turn, we will learn from others we touch.

Now isn’t this beautiful? Growing through learning from ourselves and the people we meet. Exploring new cultures and experiencing new adventures both physically and spiritually. Constantly stimulating our own creativity and that of the people around us. Most importantly, sharing our love and fearlessness in a compassionate, humble and understanding way with the universe around us. Boundless energy, passion and enthusiasm for life.

Namaste
